Shannen Doherty, best known for her roles in Beverly Hills, 90210, and Charmed, has passed away at the age of 53 after battling cancer for many years. “The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace,” her publicist confirmed Sunday. Doherty began her acting career as a child in the 1980s and gained recognition for her roles in Little House on the Prairie and Girls Just Want to Have Fun. Her career soared with her role in Beverly Hills, 90210, and she later starred in movies like Mallrats and the series Charmed with Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano.
Doherty shared her breast cancer diagnosis in 2015, and then her remission in 2017 after treatment. Unfortunately, by 2020 it had relapsed and progressed to stage four. In 2023, she revealed it had metastasized to her brain. (People)
