George Strait has reached another historic milestone in his prestigious music career. At Strait’s show on Saturday night at Kyle Field at Texas A&M in College Station, the country legend set a new U.S. attendance record for a ticketed show. 110,905 fans came out to see Strait’s performance, breaking the previous record set in 1977 by the Grateful Dead, who drew 107,019 fans to their show at Raceway Park in New Jersey. Strait billed his historic show as “The King At Kyle Field,” with support coming from opening acts Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman. It was Strait’s only scheduled live performance in the state of Texas in 2024. Strait also just shared his new single, “The Little Things,” on Friday, which is drawn from his forthcoming album, Cowboys And Dreamers, due out on September 6. It will be Strait’s 31st studio album of his illustrious career. (Billboard)
